The Botswana Comprehensive Care and Support of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Project provides comprehensive care for OVC by strengthening national and community-based organizations.
IntraHealth provides technical assistance in child protection systems and social service workforce strengthening, working closely with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Departments of Social Protection and Community Development. So far, we have achieved:
The results will inform the launch of a new National Social Protection Framework (in collaboration with World Bank) and a revised enrollment system which will ensure that all eligible children are assessed, registered, and receiving benefits in line with the Children’s Act. These results will also inform the development of a national framework for forging effective working relationships between the government and civil society organizations for improved OVC service delivery.
